The GAP course, explained for parents.
An hour with the people who run the course. What your son or daughter would actually be doing for six weeks, how we look after them, what it costs, and what the qualification is worth afterwards. Bring every question you have.
- Wednesday 7 October
- 5pm FR / 4pm UK
- Google Meet
- Free
We recorded it. Email hello@peaksnowsports.com and we will send you the link, along with the date of the next one.
The questions parents actually ask.
What they actually come home with.
BASI Level 1 and Level 2, what each one lets them teach, and how the qualification is recognised across the Alps and beyond.
How the six weeks run.
A normal day on the course: training hours, exams, workshops and where the pressure points are.
How we look after them.
The chalet, the 24/7 care line, weekly one to ones, room reviews and who to call when something goes wrong at 11pm.
What it costs, and how to pay it.
What the price covers, what it does not, staged payments, and the extras to budget for on top.
What happens after.
Where a newly qualified instructor can work, what they can earn, and how our partner ski schools hire straight off the course.
Whether they ski well enough.
The honest answer on the standard needed to start, and what to do between now and the course if they are not there yet.
Roughly half the hour is us talking and half is your questions. Ask them live or drop them in the chat. If you would rather not ask in front of other parents, put it in the form below and we will cover it without naming you.
Worth a read first.
How you become an instructor.
The route from confident skier to qualified, in plain English.
What it costs.
The full picture, including the costs that sit outside the course fee.
About the webinar.
Do I need my son or daughter on the call?
No. Plenty of parents come alone and pass on what they learn. They are very welcome if they want to be there, and the questions are usually better when they are.
Is this a sales pitch?
No. It is an hour of straight answers, including the ones that talk people out of it. If the course is wrong for your family we would rather you found that out now than in January.
What if I cannot make it?
Register anyway. We record the session and email it to everyone on the list, so you can watch it whenever suits.
Do I have to be on camera?
Not at all. Come with your camera off and your microphone muted and ask everything in the chat if you prefer.
